Dr Paul Geddy - Consultant Cellular Pathologist

Paul is a cellular pathologist based at Alexandra Hospital in Redditch with a special interest in skin and breast pathology. When he’s not dealing with piles of glass slides, he can be found cycling around Worcestershire and the Cotswolds. He regularly commutes to work by bike and is confident that this training will help him reach the Arc de Triomphe 24 hours ahead of Chris Froome; although his sponsorship deal with Team Sky is still pending! 

We asked Paul if he could give us a quick update on his upcoming challenge. 

How did you hear about this challenge? 

I saw it in the college magazine and I instantly decided to do it.

Why did you sign up for this challenge?

I enjoy cycling and was planning a cycling holiday in France anyway. I wanted to support the charitable aims and I have never been to Paris.

Have you taken part in a fundraising challenge before? 

I have taken part in charity runs but my feet are now too frail for running! I am a long term supporter of Oxfam.

How has the training been going? 

I've been getting up earlier for a longer commute to work and going for long cycles at the weekend. I've have covered 90 miles in one day and managed to find some new gastropubs for a spot of lunch. I enclose a picture from upon Eckington Bridge over the River Avon.
