Healthcare Infection Society

The applicant must be a HIS member for at least 2 years. Members are eligible to apply for the bursary every 3 years, although preference will be given to those who have not previously received the bursary. |

Graham Ayliffe Training Fellowship Enables the specialty trainees and infection control nurses to undertake a 1-year paid leave of absence to pursue their specialist topic within the area of IPC. The fellowship covers the salary and the research and training costs up to £73,000. |

Mike Emmerson International Fellowship Up to £2,500 for a healthcare professional from low or middle-low income country to come to the UK and undertake observership in the UK or Ireland. The applicant must identify a host institution and a sponsor who is a HIS member. |

Face-to-face and hybrid events: for hybrid events where the delegate is presenting and attending face to face for an element of the programme, they are eligible to apply for a full travel grant. Online-only events: travel grant applications to cover registration costs for online events, where the delegate is presenting their work, are available. A maximum registration fee of £350 can be claimed. If a delegate is attending a hybrid event as an online participant, they are still eligible to apply for registration costs. |
