Sudanese partnerships

About

4 organisations in Sudan come under the umbrella of this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). These organisations are: the Sudan Federal Ministry of Health ('Moh'), which is the main body responsible for health service provision; Soba University Hospital ('SOBA'), which is the hospital of Khartoum University – the oldest and largest university in Sudan; The National Public Health Laboratory, which is the Central Reference Laboratory for the whole country; and The Sudanese Diaspora Group, which comprises members in the UK and globally, many of whom are College fellows.

Objectives

The Memorandum of Understanding was formed in 2022. It sets out that together we will work towards:

• providing opportunities for continuing professional development/continuing medical education
• promoting pathology and laboratory medicine
• supporting the strengthening of laboratory systems
• providing support via international education schemes, including the Medical Training Initiative and the International Trainee Support Scheme for histopathology and medical microbiology.
