BSAC is holding several regional workshops on OPAT. These workshops look at improving patient experience and treatment outcomes. This workshop will take place in Newmarket.

TOPICS COVERED

  • Outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT) allows for medically stable patients to be discharged (or avoid admission completely) who require a course of intravenous antimicrobial agents. OPAT is a vital scheme that can prevent hospital admissions, reduce a patient’s length of stay in hospital through early discharge, plus reduce the risk of hospital acquired infections. If you are thinking about setting up, or currently run an OPAT service.
  • BSAC is hosting six Regional Workshops across the UK: Belfast (14 June), Birmingham (21 June), Glasgow (28 June), London (6 September), Bristol (10 September) and Newmarket (13 September).
  • Our National OPAT Conference will be held online and in-person at the Royal College of Physicians, Liverpool, on 8 November 2024. This is a superb networking event for new and experienced OPAT practitioners which provides a platform for sharing ideas, expertise, and best practice to better support OPAT practice.
