Dr Lishman will use a living model to explore the process of post-mortem examination and share the tools of her trade.
Join Consultant Histopathologist Dr Suzy Lishman CBE, for a unique event featuring a ‘living’ dead body portrayed by an actor. Dr Lishman will guide attendees through the post-mortem examination process, showcasing the actual instruments used and explaining where incisions are made, how each organ is examined, and what tests may be conducted. Attendees will also learn about the role of pathologists and when a post-mortem examination is required for someone who has passed away.
This event is in anticipation of National Pathology Week 2023, taking place from June 19-25. Dr Suzy will provide a scientifically accurate and sensitive account of this crucial medical examination, and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the talk.
