In December, The Royal College of Pathologists launched its pilot online community, the Medical Examiner/Medical Examiner Officer Hub (ME/MEO Hub).

The ME/MEO Hub is an online community designed specifically for medical examiner and medical examiner officer members of the College. It is a private space where members can share knowledge and best practice, foster connection and collaboration, and access exclusive online events.

A key aim of the College’s 2024-29 Strategy is to foster a sense of pride and belonging among our members. 1 of the ways the College is striving to deliver this is by developing more opportunities for members to network, share best practice and find support to address any challenges they face. We are aiming for online communities to be a key part of this.

The ME/MEO Hub held a launch event on Monday 9 December hosted by Dr Suzy Lishman, Senior Advisor on Medical Examiners, and Daisy Shale, Lead Medical Examiner for Wales. This online event provided an overview of the community and the features available. Dr Lishman and Ms Shale also discussed common challenges for medical examiners and medical examiner officers, and answered members’ questions.

A regular online event series will be launched in the Hub in 2025, covering a range of topics to support members in their work. We hope that the ME/MEO Hub will greatly benefit College members in the medical examiner service by providing a unique, professional space that connects members across the country.

If you have any questions or would like to find out more about the ME/MEO Hub, please contact the Member Engagement and Support team.
